Day 1

The city of Sudbury is a city rich in history. Although it is most recognized for it’s mining history, the city was established in 1893 and was first inhabited more than 9000 years ago. Sudbury’s history is a town with a multicultural background that is widely celebrated today. Spend the day at some of the many Heritage locations in order to discover how Sudbury came to be the great city it is today.

Anderson Farm Museum

Come see the 14 beautiful acres that is home to one of the largest dairy farms in Sudbury during the 1920’s and 1930’s. Visitors can tour the famhouse, the barn as well as the milkhouse. The original farmhouse was built in 1914 and housed Finnish immigrants Frank and Gretta Anderson and their 6 children. In the dairy barn kids can see a variety of farming equipment that predates the modern technology that has since revolutionized the industry. The Creighton log cabin was also later added to the site in order to preserve the history of the town of Creighton, which became a ghost town in 1987 when operations were halted.
